I think this is the first report of a successful product change to Blue Cash.
A few weeks back I tried to PC my BCP to the BC. Was rejected. CSR said I should call back in 3-4 months and they would be happy to do for me.
I immediately I apped online for the BC. But Amex system automatically cancelled the application.
I then called New APP for clarification regarding the application cancellation. CSR submitted request to their supervisor to manually review for exception.
Three weeks later only status changed to cancellation again. I called and was told that the decision for cancellation stands because I had just been approved for the BCP less than 90 days.
Yesterday I received a letter in the mail confirming that the application was cancelled and that the orginal decision for cancellation stands.
Product change is common for AMEX. It is also possible to PC in the same blue cash/bce/bcp family. However, at least for the BCP, a 90 day probation period is necessary before Amex will PC or approve a new application.
