The airlines are different but operated by the same.

It will be American Airlines from CMH to LAX
and then Alaska Airlines (operated by AA) from LAX to SEA.

I want to miss the Alaska airlines one on purpose to stay in LA for a couple of days. I'm okay with forfeiting the ticket as I already purchased a one way ticket to return to SEA

I'm hoping I can check in my bag at Columbus and have it go to SEA without me. Then I can just pick it up at the airport in a future date (I don't really need the things in my luggage immediately)
