Delta doesn't need to offer marketing incentives for travelers like this. If he gets on the plane without giving a crap about the ticket cost, he certainly doesn't care about whether he gets any frequent flyer miles.
Delta, and all the other airlines for that matter, should be tailoring their programs to award discretionary travelers who care about frequent flyer incentives when making purchasing decisions.
The airlines should be fleecing the big spenders, not rewarding them?!
