My thought, since the SO has the selection. We are going for the GUCs; since I suspect they will come out of the same bucket at the SWUs, so why not give a shot at upgrading some low fares. Also, with exception to the airport standby list (which is really not applicable in AMS anyway), 25K miles can always be used for an upgrade instead of an SWU.

I'm estimating I'll qualify for Diamond by the end of year (Platinum now); so perhaps, my opinion will change (and the SO will re-qualify).
