Usually we buy Y tickets for longhaul trips many months in advance but this year we face a strange predicament.

In the Fall we want to try out PE in the 787 Dreamliner to Haneda but we are a bit concerned about the seemingly unreliability of Boeing deliveries.

We are also concerned about price changes and the risk of increases pricing the tickets out of reach.

Do we buy now, nine months in advance and lock-in our $5k in fares or sit tight waiting for some certainty as to 787 availability while hoping for prices to remain static or even drop.

Right now advance sales of PE longhaul on the 787 routes to HND and TLV are stagnant past July/August.

What to do?
