OC isn't doing any better. My go-to stores are now announcing "Cash only". Although one of them says "Cash or Debit.", I probably won't do it since that means extra trips to get Visa GCs from Ralphs first. There are other easier ways to MS.
OC is getting tougher, but luck does favor the bold. Stopped at two Vons, and three Stater Bros this am. Success at both Vons, but failure at all three Stater Bros which, in the past, had permitted me to use CC or debit. In the end, no rhyme or reason behind much of this, and it still comes down to the person who is behind the register. Stater Bros does still have the old cards, and wonder if and when they'll see the new ones. Albertsons is hard coded for cash for the old cards, and will drop by one day to see if they have the new cards and, if so, whether they are similarlily configured in their POS system.
