Hi - LondonElite is correct in that payment is authorised but not debited until processed by the back office.

For Amex customers, it shows as pending authorisation without being debited. It then disappears until the back office actually processes the payment.

It's a bit like checking into a hotel and they pre-authorise your card but don't debit your card with the exact amount until you check out.
