Similar event couple of weeks back happened to my son, an invol reroute from BA flights to CX ones. The flights on CX are showing as redemption booking. Incidentally BA still have not credited TP's or Avios, despite being reminded!
It will have cost BA money. It's just that BA's back room IT services are pathetic. You can tell this by how regular UUA'd flights never post correctly.
