The delay caused by being bumped to CX was 2 hours and not 3 hours, so it wasn't that bad.

Assuming it happened on 24 Feb, BA 26 left at approx 23:30. CX 237 (assuming it was 237 and not 255) left at approx 01:30. If it was CX 255 it left earlier than that.
Assuming it happened on 25 Feb, BA 26 left at approx 23:30. CX 255 (no 237 that day) left at approx 01:40.

So, either way not more than 2 hours of delay. Not such a bad outcome, although I can understand the passengers' frustration, particularly late at night.
