My gut instinct is the person who the rifle won't know what it is and it will probably be ignored but still, considering the cost of them I don't want to risk the financial loss or the crime (if their is one).
Also make sure you file the appropriate paperwork with the BATFE; I forget the form number, but there is a form that has to be filed before you transport any NFA firearm interstate. You'll probably need a copy of that at the airport as well.
