Transporting a gun silencer

I've traveled many times with my hunting rifles and am very familiar with traveling with weapons. I recently acquired a silencer and have the federal permit for it.

For the first time I would like to travel with it. Obviously I will take the permit with me. Just wandering if anyone knows if their is anything illegal about doing so? Or does anyone have any idea where I could begin to look for it? Most likely I will put it in the declared rifle checked luggage, but not my general suitcase.

My gut instinct is the person who the rifle won't know what it is and it will probably be ignored but still, considering the cost of them I don't want to risk the financial loss or the crime (if their is one).
