I've done some research in order to better answer your question. In order to nominate a partner you will need to call Aeroplan: 1-514-395-0300 before tomorrow. The Number of nominees depends on your status. If you are a S100k member your allotment is 4 per year until Feb28,2014. For the electronic upgrade the same fare rules would apply to the booking; however if the passenger is traveling on a X fare ( rewards tickets) the super elite sponsor must be present at the airport. If the ticket is eligible for an electronic upgrade and your colleague is your nominated partner than they can request the EUPGRADE for themselves at the airport.
If you have any questions in regards to the policies or procedures for an electronic upgrade please contact the LAX concierge desk or the Super Elite Desk provided on the back of your SE card.
