To what freebies in particular are you referring to relative to TripIt Pro? Are you thinking of the things you pay for with TripIt Pro that Worldmate offers for free?

WorldMate has all of the same functionality as TripIt, with a couple of minor exceptions: Points tracking and seat alerts. For seat alerts, I get that with ExpertFlyer and Points Tracking I prefer to handle on my own.

I have spent the last month (because it's been a particular heavy month of travel for me) and I've been testing TripIt Pro and Worldmate side by side. I also have FlightTrack Pro as well. I've found that Worldmate still wins. I was notified of gate changes, schedule changes and check-in ability faster with Worldmate (and FlightTrack Pro, for that matter) than TripIt Pro. TripIt Pro did provide me with the email stating my trip was starting soon, though I've never found great benefit with that notifier.

I have also found that fundamentally, Worldmate displays - or even captures from confirmation emails - more information than TripIt Pro does.

It could be that I'm used to the interface with Worldmate, but it seems both simpler and easier to navigate and TripIt Pro a bit 'busier' which adds confusion. Still, I paid $9.99 for Worldmate Gold as a one-time fee, basically for the app. TripIt Pro is $50 every year.

And, I can book hotels and limos and have a great, live currency converter built into Worldmate.

YMMV, but I'm sticking with Worldmate.
