I am a CCR card holder so F lounge doesn't really have much effect on me. I still feel sorry for those who are actually finding it difficult to find somewhere to sit.
However I partially blame the shortage of single seating at the F lounge for that. I think the key is to increase the number of solo seats.
And maybe have across-the-OW increase in Emerald qualification criteria, rather than just BA. While you're at it, increase the Sapphire qualification criteria as well, and ban selling of status - no more CX Gold via Amex then.
However, 100 sectors on BA metal should qualify for BA Gold for the sheer loyalty to BA. It doesn't matter what class and how many TPs they get for them, as long as it's on BA metal (maybe it has to be IAG metal nowadays...). Much more deserving IMO than those who might do some cheap sectors on BA and earn the rest of the TPs through AA TP runs etc.
Of course the alternative to raising the TP threshold is to increase the required number of BA-earned TPs, but that could be a bit against the spirit of OW.
None of that affects me in any way at the moment as I am spared the crowded LHR F lounge unless I choose to venture in there for one reason or another. Pretty rare, in fact. I do not find other OW F lounges as crowded as they do not tend to be full of domestic and short haul passengers.
