Oh yes, no lie flat seats in F, let alone J. No IFE worth anything, perhaps if you're lucky an 8mm cassette selection of a few films you could watch if noone else was.

Be careful what you wish for. Or if you still want that lifestyle, fly Virgin, or EK, or another proper airline, and hang by the bar.

That's what we knew at the time, perhaps we just take things for granted now.

But anyway I was referring more to what was available on the 747s in the early days, certainly on the American carrier's, I don't know about BA, first class lounges/bar on the UD, fine dining, a proper first class experience. Nostalgic. Often see pics on airliners.net.
