I also picked up a 521 for a family member because of the large icons and enlargeable text for default text messaging app. She doesn't need a smartphone but I also didn't want to make her suffer with the smaller keys of a flip phone. I think it will do the job as long as WM has decent reliability.

Build is inexpensive and the sim tray seems to put heavier stripes through sims than more expensive models.
