It appears our last UD flight will be going SEA to LHR in May. The return, in June, has been replaced with a 777. It was a 747 when I booked the holiday and paid for UD seats both ways. Then I received a "seat change" notification and learned of the equipment change.

Looking at schedules, I found that the last 747 on the LHR-SEA run departs LHR on May 31, and returns the same date. Beginning June 1, BA 49 is a 777.

I will truly miss the 747. My first flight on one was a Pan Am flight in 1976. It was the first time I was actually comfortable flying. Flew BA for the first time in 1998 ( in Y) in large part to ride the 747 again. Beginning in 2003 we have been able to use miles, and then Avios, to fly BA in J. My husband says he is looking forward to trying a 777, but I will be in mourning. Such a beautiful plane. Anytime we depart SEA for elsewhere around 5:00 -6:00 pm, I love to see BA 48 parked at the gate, waiting.
