It was not an exception in terms of service; but rather that the hotel property is an older building that predates the current style of a typical Hilton Garden Inn.
For example, one room I was in had a slanted ceiling conforming with the roof.
I have not been there in years, so it may be updated today to elevate it to the current standards of the brand
as these photographs seem to demonstrate; but the first time I stayed at that hotel property, the concept of “Garden Inn” was still new and I really did not like it at first — probably because I did not initially understand the concept. It felt old and dreary back then.
