as of last fall that has not been the case for me.

I have attempted this 5-6 times since the no-show policies went into effect.

most recently (last week), business select, I am 100% positive the gate agent deleted the 2nd leg boarding pass. She quoted (correctly) the amount of the one remaining security charge that I was being refunded. I had looked at the boarding screen before and after, and can confirm that the # of ticketed passengers went down by 3 (in our group) after she deleted them.

10 days later I have no credit card refund, no funds remaining on my conf #s, no points awarded.

on my southwest online account, my "Past Trips" screen shows the route that I actually flew. Underneath pricing it says:
Trip Routing Fare Type Base Fare
This ticket was not completely flown. Rapid Rewards Points will not be deposited until the entire ticket has been flown, exchanged or refunded (if applicable).

The only way I've gotten things to auto post (under the new system) is to have the ticket changed before you ever board the first flight. The gate agent has to over-ride the any upcharge in price (even though you're flying one less segment) so they may be unwilling to do so.
