How is this "preferred seating"? A baby bassinet is there because many of SQ's clients happen to have babies and either need or want to travel. It is an amenity to help cater to a certain group of customers. Are you saying there should be no bassinets? Even if you only think about your own comfort, it only becomes worse for you if there is no bassinet and you say to families that they must hold their very young infants the entire flight, rather than put them down on a flat surface to sleep. That scenario will end up being even noisier as the infant is less likely to sleep as much. And what argument would you make to justify taking the bassinet away anyways? The space exists and it costs very little to provide this additional amenity. And people pay for it. Saying no to bassinets just seems cruel.
