Just checked YUL-CDG in July round trip:

AT 1105 CAD
AC 1794 CAD

So yes I would say they did not lower their prices.

Also checked Rogue and found them to match WJ and AT prices when those two have capacity, then as soon as they are sold out, your Rogue flight sets you back a whopping 1800$ for a YUL-MCO.

And it's not about reducing prices by an arbitrary amount, it's about having a price that reflects the level of quality. I don't expect poutine to cost the same as lobster.
