Some régional operators use their RJs for multiple marketing carriers in the same day. If where that plane is coming from isn't a United flight, UA's system won't give you a "where is this flight coming from" link.

For example, SkyWest used to use the same EM2 to operate SLC-SGU as Delta Connection and turning the plane for SGU-LAX as United Express. UA would not have "where is this plane coming from" information in this case.
