I've grabbed a business award for the LAX-MEL-LAX flights on the 787-900 (5 + 3 rows of BF).
The LAX-MEL is overnight, and MEL-LAX is daytime.
I've grabbed seat 1D in both directions (being 6'0", having the larger footwell is nice).

I usually don't need to get up much during night time flights (I usually sleep pretty well on planes), so maybe I should go for 1A on the LAX-MEL flight? How is the legroom in 1A compared to 1D?

On the return, having direct access to the aisle without needing to get up to let the window set person out is why I picked 1D.
Since the front cabin is larger on the 787-900, perhaps I should go for 3D or 4D to get away from the front galley/restroom while at the same time not being too close to the rear galley, or?
How's the legroom in the D and E seats in the non-bulkhead rows?
