As a result I called American and told them I couldn't make it but No advisory issued even though the weather channel issued a winter storm advisory for the area!!!! I had to pay almost 500 bucks extra to switch to a later connecting flight thru DFW (currently in Admirals club in DFW) when I finally got a taxi to show up after 7:30 a.m.
At what point does American issue an 'advisory'???
I tried everything possible to make it to the airport on time and yet I get penalized by American for not making the flight and letting them know.
Weather happens but I do not understand how the airline with a weather channel Winter storm advisory for the area doesn't as a courtesy issue an advisory.
How would anyone else feel? I don't think I'm wrong in being angry at this.
You do not mention your status, also, at what point did you called AA? After the flight, or before, if before, couldn't SDC apply? If after the flight, I suggest contact customer service to complain.
