When they tried to do this with me (I was using said CX gold, but crediting the miles to BA) I was just politely insistent that I was entering the GC lounge under one world rules and they HAD to let me in - in fairness they knew that, but they didn't think they had a way of doing so unless they changed over where I was putting the miles to the card I was entering on. Eventually one of the four dragons revealed that the status needs to be commented when the manual override is given and suddenly, letting me in was no problem.

But if your dragon doesn't know that, then its easier for them to make up a rule to deny you entry and then to remain in denial about the fact they have done so (by refusing you any recourse). But don't worry, I'm sure someone will be along soon to explain how this was your fault or come up with an implausible scenario to defend the dragon's behaviour
