Yes, there is an occasional lounge admittance policy problem and I agree that a solution should be found... and in the case of the OP - unforgivable.
But have I, fore example, in thousands of flights ever been refused entry to a lounge or had issues? No... in fact quite the opposite.
Neither have I but the repeated and regular posts on here regarding agents who do not know the rules is actually quite incredible and would suggest to me that my data set, no matter how often repeated, does not preclude this customer facing issue from existing.
How BA management allows it to subsist is instructive though.
