Another option is to get a second Reserve card in your wife's name. Put 30k on that one and gift yourself the MQM. And put the remaining 30K on yours for the next MQM boost. It's a $475 option, but you do get a second companion pass and, being as you'll be losing the ability to bring companions into lounges with Amex cards, you'll get that added benefit.
