If you find open R space I'd pay the $300 to change, if not you've got a pretty good chance of finding open PN space that you can SDC into. I did this for an EWR-NRT flight a couple of weeks ago which I changed at T-24hrs to EWR-IAD-NRT. I did the chance online whilst on the phone to United and then had the agent reapply my GPU.
