Because you say that Spain is very appealing to you, I would do that. $800 give or take a little bit sounds reasonable to me with today's airfares. Sure, you may get lucky and find a quick flash sale for $600 but you don't have the luxury of watching and waiting right now. Just consider the entire cost of the trip which will run several thousand dollars. For that extra hundred or so dollars you're trying to save on each airline ticket, I would forget about the hundred and go for the trip that you really want to do.
