When I hit 1MM, I needed a new carry on bag and took the Hartmann.
The my job changed from a lot of domestic trips to 2 to 3 week international trips where I pack a big bag to make sure I've got everything I need. It sounds like that is a good thing that the Hartmann is in the basement gathering dust.
As far as recognition, I have found that when I fly coach internationally I do get FA's who come back to check on me and offer BE wine, which has always been very nice of them.
Flying BE is hit or miss on recognition but when you get a couple of FA's who do recognize you, the treatment is great.
I did the legendary ATL-JNB 16 hour flight last fall and had non stop service which involved Woodford and a very entertaining conversation in the galley for a couple of hours on all the ridiculous things that happen on long flights.
Most of the time, I'm just another passenger but on those occasions where they take the time to talk about how much BIS time I've spent over 30 years. it is really appreciated.
