With most airlines, you can cancel your ticket within 24 hours and get a full refund. So you have time to catch your errors. Much as I like deals, I can't blame the hotel for wanting to catch their errors and using their contract to allow that.
the reason you can cancel is due to new DoT regs which came into effect after plenty of consumer complaints, up until recently, you made a mistake and you were stuck with it...
