the concept of "protection" might seem out of line in this case, but what about montezume's example, a month off or let's say July 11th versus November 7th due to mistyping the date... should the consumer be penalized...
the main issue is that T&C that basically says we can cancel because the sun rose from the east or the fare was less than the cost of tea in china... those should be regulated...
The problem is that they can cancel at any point in time by having vague ToCs. What constitutes a "mistake" anyways? If they are allowed to make mistakes without financial repercussions, why can't the consumer? Most reasonable people would assume that a hotel for $10 a night is probably a mistake, and wouldn't be too upset when it's cancelled on them. What really grinds my gears is their attitude.
