Thanks. That was an interesting read. In 2012 LH took an extraordinary charge of charge of 102 million € for write-downs of retired aircraft and another 27 million for impaired aircraft and repair parts (see note 9 on page 150 in the German-lauguage edition of the 2012 LH Annual Report).
Even more interesting to me in the same note, though it was not really material, was that LH took a 2 million € write down on the "Lauda" brand name that isn't used anymore...funny the things one finds lying around still on the books sometimes...
