If you have Gold or higher status with HH, you could get breakfast at the HGI or free internet at the DT which would wash that comparison.

I have stayed at that DT and the rooms are true suites. This is a sprawling property and all the rooms have outside entrances (OK in the mild PHX winter, brutal in the summer).

I haven't stayed at the HGI in that part of town, but HGIs pretty much keep to the brand standard, so if you've stayed in one, you've stayed in all.

If you don't need the space of the DT, I would take the HGI for fewer points.
