I've never done this before, but I am thinking of booking a short Hilton stay for a relative this summer. I am HH Diamond and she has no status with them. I will not be present at any point during the stay.

1) is this even possible? (i.e. making the reservation from my HHonors account and adding the relative as a second person on the reservation?)

2) if this is possible, is there any advantage of doing this? Will they get upgrades, benefits, etc. even if I am not present?

3) if I use points to make the reservation, does this change anything?
