Where should we go in March?
We are moving from NYC to LA at the end of March, and have about 2 weeks in the middle of the month to do a big trip. The question is - where should we go, considering it's relatively last minute?
We are interested in exploring more of Europe but March seems to be an off time. Greece and Istanbul are still relatively cold. Madrid and southern Spain are appealing but flights are currently ~$800. Prague and Budapest are too cold. Also interested in possibly going back to Rome and maybe doing Bologna or other foodie areas, but flights also seem high. We have just recently been to most of Italy and major cities like London, Paris, Brussels, Barcelona, and Amsterdam.
India could work, but the nice Oberoi / Taj hotels are still in their peak season. We would also probably need to do a tour (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Varanasi) and international flights are running at ~$1000. And we also need to get visas.
Peru might be an option considering we have JetBlue vouchers, but not really sure what to do once we get to Lima if we want to do Macchu Picchu and hop over to Ecuador for the Galapagos.
Thoughts? Not really interested in doing Asia or the Caribbean. The South American visas are too expensive in general.
Just looking for a good balance between cost, a place we actually want to go to, and taking advantage of access from NYC vs LA.
