Sure you can: just combine an off-peak Coach ORD-LHR award (20K AA miles) with an LHR-KTM Coach award (20K AA miles). By contrast, a single ORD-KTM award would cost 45K AA miles, and would not permit a stopover in London.
found a great fare outbound on 4rth, found nothing on 2st for the return, the rep says she booked me for 19th and I can call in next 24 hrs to find again or cancel. says it is on hold for 24 hrs and i can call to extend with no penalty?
Total tax was $362 including the $75 fee bit higher than what I found on united even with the $50 fee. it was 40k miles each.
Can I just call and cancel the return trip and keep the outbound? The fee for that is still $203.90
