I'm trying to accumulate Alaska miles for an upcoming trip but have never used the shopping portal before. I did a little over a week ago, and bought $5K in AMEX gift cards. Alaska is supposed to give out 3 miles/dollar spent during that time, so 15K miles is not insignificant. The portal says most transactions take 5 business days, but can go up to 45! Any experiences with this? Thanks!
