Any idea when Regency Los Angeles will be rebranded from LA Hotel? Looking for something near the convention center but they won't let me book with points even though I can book on the Hyatt site when paying cash.
The target date for this cut-over is May 15 this year. They are still doing a ton of work to the building.
I stayed at this location for 3 nights last week. I used a suite upgrade that was about to expire and they put me in a Junior Suite which was huge and really nice. So even though you can't book with points yet, it's nice to know they allowed the suite upgrade prior to the official re-branding. Also got all my Hyatt GP points no problem. They posted within 24 hours.
I really enjoyed my stay and the people were fantastic. Not a whole lot to do in the immediate area. You have to walk a good ways to find decent restaurants or to get on the Metro subway (8-9 blocks). But the location is fine from a safety standpoint.
