Connecting at Terminal 5
Hello, long time reader but first time poster. I thought I would share my little experience that I had today with BA and You First, in case anyone is in the same situation as me in the future.
My wife and I are booked to fly BA F next December from SFO - LHR. We had originally planned to spend a few days in London and then grab the short hop flight from LHR - DUB on BA at a later date. We decided to change these plans and just go straight to Dublin on the same day. Since I had already booked the first portion of our trip from SFO - LHR I went ahead and booked a separate BA flight from LHR - DUB.
Upon receiving my confirmation e-mail I noticed that our flight was departing from Terminal 5. I since found out that all BA flights to DUB or BFS will now operate out of Terminal 5, as opposed to Terminal 1, from next October 2014. This was great unexpected news and as our flight gets in at 2pm the arrivals lounge would have been closed so we would not have a very nice layover. On top of the obvious benefits of not having to change terminals, this change from Terminal 1 to Terminal 5 means we can use the Concorde lounge during our layover as we arrive on BA F. I called You First to inquire if me and my wife would be entitled to a free spa treatment and they informed me we were. Another added bonus to anyone who may be arriving long haul in F and connecting to a short haul in Europe or even a domestic flight out of Terminal 5.
