A lot of information seems to be missing. Traveloguy suggested that the OP was originally booked on the AA operated service which was canceled and that AA re-booked the OP to the BA operated service; however these details are missing from the original post.

I believe this (whether or not the OP bought a ticket for the flight or was re-booked by AA on the day) would make a big difference.
