I've tried the bus, but always seem to get caught in traffic. One trip took me close to 3 hours!

I think the train is 10 Euro and you can buy a ticket just before the platform.

Both the bus and the train will take you to Milano Centrale. The train can take you to Milano Cadorna. I think it would be easier from Centrale.

From Milano Centrale it's then about 4km in a taxi to the Doubletree. The Hilton Milan is right next to Milano Centrale.
