The CIBC travel rewards site states that:

"17.Taxes and Other Charges are not included in Airline Travel Rewards. You can choose to charge Taxes and Other Charges to your Card or pay for them by redeeming Aventura Points at an exchange rate of $1.00 CAD per 100 Aventura Points."

The maximum ticket price for short haul is $400. If I were to buy a ticket using Aventura points, and the ticket was valued at $300 + $90 fees, does the above condition mean that I have to pay for the $90 fees with my card or points, even though the total (fare + fees) is less than $400?
