What if the rate booked was lower than the convention rate? Would the change still happen?
I sometimes speak places where our company's rate is lower than the convention rate. An applicable law requires we pay for my room; we cannot accept a free room from the convention coordinators or sponsoring companies. It can be construed as a kickback. To be honest, I've never carefully checked to be sure the correct, lower rate was charged. Yikes!
