Unfortunately, before I could get my card (which still hasn't arrived), Etihad changed the terms of the status match so that it's only offered to UAE residents, though they did honor those that applied before they did that.

On another note, it seems that the Sky Lounges access afforded by some US credit cards will be ending soon. Does anyone know if this also affects the Japan credit cards? I think that Japan Citibank Delta Gold allows the holder three admissions per year, which would still be useful when traveling with more than the one companion that is allowed admission with Gold Medallion status for international flights...
