She flow from origin to a connection in DFW and than her flight from DFW to RDU was cancelled and they couldn't get her on a flight anytime soon. They sent her back to origin and told her they refunded half the ticket to the card it was purchased on. They told her since she flew part of the trip she would only be refunded the return portion. So will I only get half of the Ultimate rewards back I used to fly her? this doesn't seem right to me.

Disclaimer: in as nice words as possible I think my MIL is losing her marbles and with the stress of missing her flight she probably couldn't understand or make a common sense decisions a 6 year old would have easily understood/made. It is totally possible they told her a full refund would be issued.

What should happen in this case?
