We'll soon be booking our first set of tickets for 2014 to EWR. Alaska is $665 round trip (instant-UP) to United's $432 (CPU lottery). You know who's getting the money!

A key for me has been my recent enrollment in GE (which, of course was paid for by UA ). With precheck via PASSID, it's one less thing I have to worry about when booking OALs. Together with free bags and some semblance of priority boarding with AS status on DL/AA, it's just like flying UA since I am rarely upgraded without an RPU anyways.
Still rolling along, since my last update I have spent $87 on United (SFO-SMF V fare ) but better than driving since it was actually on time.

Recent DL fare purchases:
SMF-JFK two one ways at $129 each, UA was the same
SMF-GNV $475 for Mrs. PV_, UA was asking the same price to TPA/MCO

Recent AA:
JFK-SMF one way in F (A321T) for $525

Upcoming:
SMF-STL likely going to either WN or AS, though the UA flights from RNO are tempting me slightly (will end up being $350-450)
STL-NYC going to either AA or DL (cheap, $100 one way)
SFO-BLR going to LH and upgrading with GPUs (thanks UA!)
need to buy another NYC-SMF return, prices are horrendous, will probably go to B6 with the direct flight from JFK but who knows. no R availability on UA on my needed dates, so they're out of the game for now.
