You're probably upset.... but this comment is a bit daft. You will probably figure out in due time that it's the American banks that are the ones creating a problem by not following the latest world standard for cards...

And there is an argument there to claim you were a bit careless and let yourself be fooled as does happen to so many people in cities with lots of tourists. Petty street crime is a problem in so many of those places, and unfortunately Amsterdam is one of them. Without people that are such easy victims the problem would surely be less...

But that doesn't make your experience less unfortunate and these things can rattle you because they are so unexpected. And it's not a very nice way to experience a city.

As for pursuing this. I really wouldn't bother, it's a complete waste of your time for such a small amount. Nobody but you is liable and without a description the police won't be able to do a thing, nor are they inclined to for these impossible to prove crimes after the fact.
