I re-routed onto JFK-ATL for the 6:10am departure yesterday (2/13) and all in coach were offered free a small sandwich (turkey and cheese on a square roll) and Walkers shortbread cookies. At first I thought it a kind gesture for a Diamond (who gave up an upgraded seat), but saw they were being offered to all. Is this normal out of NY - or a one off gift from catering? I suspected the latter with so many cancellations and food otherwise prepped for other flights. Just curious.
