But I am curious: Why would you book a points night followed by paid night? Although you've always been able to do that, Marriott, with great fanfare, rolled out the innovative points+cash option last year, which allowed you to do this thing you could always do. Why wouldn't you take advantage of this exciting, meaningless perk when booking?
